The Chasam Sofer rules that the city name should be corrected to 'Palata' with an alef, with the change publicized and recorded so it takes effect after thirty days. He rules that a river beyond seventy amos separated by walled vineyards should not be mentioned in the get, as such vineyards do not constitute the ibur ha'ir. He permits relying on 'mei ma'ayanos' without a named river in a case of pressing need (sha'as hadechak), based on the Maharil and the Beis Meir's testimony from Lissa, while advising the student to seek official names for local waterways if possible.
