Rabbi Gedaliah asks whether unfolding a multi-paneled folding screen (Spanische Wand) on Shabbos is permitted. The Chasam Sofer rules that a Jew may not unfold it unless one panel was spread before Shabbos as a recognizable pre-existing structure, but a non-Jew may do so since the prohibition is only rabbinic.
