In response to seven Talmudic questions on Avodah Zarah and related tractates, the Chasam Sofer provides novel interpretations on topics including the identity of ben Guda and ben Gode'a, the reversal of beraisos regarding milah by a non-Jew, and the prohibition of eglah arufah. A key ruling establishes that milah by a non-Jew is only valid bedi'eved because the father's mitzvah can only be fulfilled through a Jewish agent (ein shelichus legoy).
