The Chasam Sofer resolves three analytical questions: the derivation of ta'am ke'ikar from basar bechalav applies specifically to heter beheter in liquid mixtures; chatzi shiur through mixture is biblically prohibited; and fish brine in dissolved form is only rabbinically forbidden, resolving contradictions in Tosfos in Avodah Zarah.
