Selling a Blemished Bechor to a Non-Jew to Avoid Burial if Found Treifah

Description

The Chasam Sofer rules that a blemished bechor should not be sold alive to a non-Jew, as this produces a neveilah still requiring burial. Instead, a Jew should perform shechitah and then sell the animal to a non-Jew without inspecting the lungs, since the biological majority of animals are healthy and no bedikah is required for non-Jewish consumption, thereby avoiding the burial requirement.
