From: Rabbi Moshe Sofer

The Chasam Sofer decisively rejects Reform-movement innovations including pronouncing the Tetragrammaton as spelled, praying in German, introducing musical instruments into synagogues, and omitting prayers for the rebuilding of the Temple. He demonstrates philosophically and halachically that the true vocalization of the Tetragrammaton has been lost and that it must always be substituted with Adonai or Elokim, and he affirms the ongoing obligation to pray for the restoration of Yerushalayim and the Beis HaMikdash.
