A woman with liver hardening (Leberverhärtung) bled nearly continuously, leaving her almost permanently forbidden to her husband. The Chasam Sofer rules leniently that she may be declared tehorah between menstrual periods, relying on the consistent pain preceding bleeding and the mugla-like appearance as ongoing evidence of a wound, combined with a sfek sfeka that the blood does not pass through the makor. He requires three clean days after a genuine menstrual period and instructs her not to insert the examination cloth deeply on days when wound-related bleeding is expected.
