Three witnesses testified to the death of a soldier's husband, but the first two lacked the father's name and contradicted the third regarding burial details. Rabbi Akiva Eiger rules that the contradiction concerns only bedikot (secondary matters), not chakirot (essential inquiries), and therefore does not invalidate the testimony. Relying on the unimpeachable testimony of the third witness and strong circumstantial evidence, he permits the woman to remarry.
