A woman's kiddushin was called into question due to multiple defects: the sole valid witness was insufficient, the ring had a gemstone requiring valuation, the ring was already in her possession as sivlonos, the man deceived her about his wealth and scholarship, and she never understood the transaction as kiddushin. The Chasam Sofer rules that the combination of these grounds is sufficient to permit her to remarry, and submits his analysis to the rabbinical court of Fürth for concurrence.
