Nullification of Pas Akum Mixture and Demai Ta'aruvos

From: Rabbi Moshe Sofer

To: Rabbi Moshe Bresvi

Description

The Chasam Sofer resolves the apparent contradiction between the Rema's ruling that a loaf of pas akum is nullified in a majority and the principle that a davar chashuv cannot be nullified, by reinterpreting the storehouse Mishnah as dealing with kol d'parish (statistical attribution) rather than ta'aruvos (physical nullification). He further addresses the duration of seed absorption relevant to chadash and orlah, arguing that a sfek sfeka permits leniency for chadash outside Eretz Yisrael.
