Kashrus of lung lobe (varda) with proper root but pointed tip

Description

The Chasam Sofer rules the animal kosher, distinguishing the Agur's stringency (which renders treif a varda whose tip resembles a lobe, creating contradictory features) from the present case where the tip is merely pointed without resembling a lobe. Since the root has the proper rose-like appearance, the varda is intact, and in cases of significant financial loss one may be lenient in any event.
