When a shtar hora'ah records an actual cash loan from the husband to the wife's apotropos, the umdena that a father gave a dowry only for his daughter's benefit does not apply, and the apotropos must repay the debt. Regarding clothing and jewelry used by the wife during the marriage, the husband has a valid inheritance claim, though a compromise leaving these items with the wife's children is recommended.
