When a bris milah falls on Shabbos and the community wishes to eat the festive meal immediately after Shacharis before davening Mussaf, may they do so? The Chasam Sofer rules leniently, arguing that a contemporary dairy bris seudah qualifies as a casual meal rather than a large formal meal, satisfying even the stricter opinion.
