Credibility of Medical Testimony and Pikuach Nefesh to Release Yevamah from Minor Yavam

A yevamah bound to a six-year-old yavam obtained medical testimony that prolonged agunah would endanger her life. The Chasam Sofer rules that medical testimony regarding a person who currently appears healthy carries no halachic weight to permit Torah violations, and that even if pikuach nefesh were established, the prohibition of yevamah lashuk cannot be overridden, as kiddushin does not take effect with a stranger and the lav is treated with special stringency. He concludes that Hashem protects those who faithfully observe His commandments.
