A man had falsely substituted his father's Hebrew name (Dov) with Yissachar while retaining the Yiddish kinui Ber, and the question was how to write the father's name in the get. The Chasam Sofer rules that the husband must publicly revert to the true patronymic — being called to the Torah and signing documents as 'ben Dov hamechuneh Ber' — for thirty days in the city where the get will be given, after which the get should be written with the correct name.
