When challah separated outside Eretz Yisrael accidentally falls back into the same dough from which it was taken, the Chasam Sofer rules one may rely on the Yerushalmi's view that the batch reverts to tevel status, and challah should be separated anew. This leniency is strengthened by combining it with hataras nedarim to annul the original challah designation, but does not extend to cases where the challah fell into a different batch except in cases of great necessity.
