The Chasam Sofer analyzes a dispute in Dresnitz where a gentile tax official forcibly replaced a young unmarried butcher with a married householder. He concludes that while complete displacement from an established livelihood is a severe prohibition, the unmarried youth lacks full trade rights because he does not pay the king's tax and is thus treated as a non-resident for trade purposes; additionally, his lease was unauthorized and he had not established a valid chazakah in the position. The analysis was written for the record as theoretical halachah, not for practical ruling.
