Rabbi Akiva Eiger refutes two novel proposals from his correspondent. He argues that the wet/dry distinction in min b'mino nullification is based on sevara, not exegesis, so the Rabbanan cannot be assumed to disagree with it; and that Rabbi Meir's principle of mevatel issur applies even under the Rabbanan's system, since the prohibited item loses its recognizable form at the moment the prohibition takes effect.
