Biography

Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bangis was a Lithuanian-born Talmudic scholar who trained at the Volozhin Yeshiva under Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Yehuda Berlin and Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. After serving communities in Lithuania, he settled in Jerusalem, where he eventually succeeded Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld as Av Beis Din of the Edah HaChareidis. His major work is the multi-volume Talmudic commentary Leflagos Reuven.
