Rabbi Yosef Taitatzak was a halachic authority and kabbalist who became a central leader of the Spanish exiles in Salonika. Although he published little during his lifetime, his teachings influenced many students, including Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz, and shaped the legal character of 16th-century Salonikan Jewry.
