Rabbi Yosef Shaul Nathanson was a posek who served as rabbi of Lemberg. He authored numerous halachic works in collaboration with his brother-in-law, Rabbi Mordechai Ze'ev Ettinger. His multi-volume responsa Sho'el u-Meshiv addressed contemporary issues, including the use of machinery in matzah baking.
