Rabbi Yitzchak Zev Soloveitchik, known as the Brisker Rav, was the son and successor of Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. He continued and expanded the Brisker analytical method of Talmud study. After escaping Europe during World War II, he rebuilt his yeshiva in Jerusalem.
