Rabbi Yitzchak Minkovski was the rav of Karlin and a talmid of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. He is known for his work Keren Orah, a collection of chiddushim on several tractates of the Talmud Bavli. Initially, he refused to accept a formal rabbinic post, supporting himself through commerce while dedicating his time to Torah study and writing.
