Rabbi Yitzchak Arama was a communal rabbi, preacher, and philosopher in 15th-century Spain. He is known for his work, Akeidas Yitzchak, a collection of philosophical homilies on the Torah that engaged with Maimonidean and Aristotelian thought. His career was interrupted by the 1492 expulsion from Spain, after which he found refuge in Naples. His writings influenced subsequent thinkers, including Rabbi Yitzchak Abravanel, by blending traditional exegesis with philosophical inquiry.
