Biography

Rabbi Yisrael of Shklov was among the foremost talmidim of the Vilna Gaon and a central leader of the Perushim, the Lithuanian talmidim who immigrated to Eretz Yisrael. He authored Pe'at HaShulchan, a systematic halachic treatment of mitzvos ha-teluyos ba'aretz, and Taklin Chadtin on the Talmud Yerushalmi.
