Rabbi Yerucham Levovitz was a leading figure in the pre-war Mussar movement and a disciple of Rabbi Simcha Zissel Ziv of Kelm. As the mashgiach of the Mir Yeshiva, he guided the institution through a period of significant growth. His discourses, which applied psychological insights to Torah study and personal growth, were compiled posthumously by his students. His primary works, Daas Chochmah U'Mussar and Daas Torah, are foundational texts in Mussar study.
