Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Halberstam was the Rebbe of the Sanz-Klausenberg Chassidic dynasty and served as communal rabbi in prewar Klausenburg. He later re-established his court among Holocaust survivors in Europe, the United States, and Israel. His responsa and drashos in the multi-volume Shefa Chaim and Divrei Yatziv reflect his engagement with halacha, Chassidus, and the theological challenges of the Holocaust. In Netanya, he established a network of Chassidic institutions and founded Laniado Hospital.
