Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Diskin was a prominent rabbinic figure in 19th-century Jewish history. He served as Chief Rabbi in Shklov, Lomza, and Brisk. In 1877, he moved to Jerusalem, where he led the "Old Yishuv," establishing the Diskin Orphanage and working to maintain traditional educational and religious standards.
