Rabbi Yechezkel Levenstein served as mashgiach in the Mir Yeshiva during its wartime exile and later in the yeshivos of Lomza, Mir in Yerushalayim, and Ponevezh. His shmuessen and guidance, partially preserved in collections such as Mimizrach Shemesh, influenced several generations of bnei yeshiva. He transmitted the legacy of Kelm mussar to the Lithuanian-style yeshiva world in Europe, Shanghai, and Israel.
