Biography

Rabbi Yaakov Tzvi Mecklenburg served as Chief Rabbi of Königsberg and was a defender of Orthodox Judaism against the Reform movement. His work, HaK'tav VeHaKabbalah, is a commentary on the Pentateuch that demonstrates the connection between the Written Torah and the Oral Law. The work elucidates how the nuances of biblical words serve as the basis for halacha.
