Rabbi Yaakov Reinowitz was a dayan and communal rabbi in Victorian England. Born in Poland, he later served on the London Beis Din. After decades as rav in his native Wilkowisk, he became a preacher at the Talmud Torah in London’s East End and was appointed dayan through the support of Chief Rabbi Nosson Marcus Adler. His responsa and halachic correspondence reflect his engagement with contemporary religious and social issues in the Anglo-Jewish community.
