Rabbi Simcha Bunim of Peshischa was the second leader of the Peshischa movement in Poland, succeeding Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Rabinowicz, known as the Yid HaKadosh. He led the movement from 1813 to 1827, advocating for intellectual study of Gemara, Tosafot, Rambam, and Maharal alongside spiritual devotion. His teachings emphasized self-authenticity, personal introspection, and individual responsibility, influencing later Hasidic thought.
