Rabbi Shmuel di Medina, known by the acronym Maharashdam, was a leading halachic authority in the 16th-century Ottoman Empire. He led a major yeshiva in Salonika. His collection of responsa, Shu"t Maharashdam, is a source for the legal and social history of the post-expulsion Sephardic diaspora.
