Rabbi Shmuel Berenbaum was a Rosh Yeshiva of the Mir Yeshiva in Brooklyn, leading the transplanted institution from the postwar period until his passing. He was identified with sustaining its intensely immersed style of learning, and under his leadership, the Mir Yeshiva remained a central Lithuanian-style yeshiva in postwar American Orthodoxy.
