Rabbi Shlomo Sirilio authored one of the first comprehensive commentaries on the Talmud Yerushalmi, covering Seder Zeraim and tractate Shekalim. His work addressed textual corruptions in existing manuscripts and elucidated the unique Galilean Aramaic dialect, distinguishing it from the Babylonian Talmud. Rabbi Yosef Karo cited this commentary authoritatively in his Beit Yosef. The commentary remained in manuscript until its initial printing in 1875.
