Biography

Rabbi Shlomo Luria was a halachic decisor and Rosh Yeshiva who advocated for the primacy of the Gemara over standardized legal codes. He insisted on a case-by-case re-evaluation of each sugya to reach halachic conclusions. His major works include Yam Shel Shlomo and Chochmas Shlomo. He established a yeshiva in Lublin that emphasized textual accuracy and direct Talmudic authority.
