Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam was a chassidic rebbe and communal rav, founder of the Bobov chassidus and a grandson of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. As rav of several Galician communities and later rebbe of Bobov, he established major yeshivos that anchored the Bobov beis midrash and authored Ateres Shlomo. His leadership formed the basis of the Bobov dynasty subsequently continued by his descendants.
