Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam was the third Bobover Rebbe and a Holocaust survivor. He reestablished and led the Bobov Chasidic court in New York after the destruction of its European base. From his beis midrash in Boro Park, he rebuilt institutions for the Bobover Chasidim in America, Israel, and Europe. His leadership encompassed communal guidance, yeshiva building, and outreach to a broad postwar Chasidic constituency.
