Rabbi Shlomo HaKohen served as Av Beis Din and posek of Vilna, establishing himself as a leading halachic authority in the Lithuanian rabbinic world. His rulings and glosses on the Shulchan Aruch, alongside his responsa in Shu"t Binyan Shlomo, were consulted by his contemporaries and later poskim. His work is frequently cited in discussions of gittin, chalitzah, and complex dinei mamonot.
