Rabbi Shlomo Eiger was a prominent Talmudist who succeeded his father, Rabbi Akiva Eiger, as the rabbi of Posen. His responsa were collected in Shu"t Rav Shlomo Eiger, and his incisive marginal notes on the Talmud and Shulchan Aruch are published as Gilyon Maharsha.
