Rabbi Shimon Shkop was a rosh yeshiva in Lithuania and Belarus, known for his analytical method of Talmudic study. He is the author of Sha'arei Yosher, a foundational work that systematically analyzes complex halachic concepts such as doubt, legal presumptions, and testimony. After serving as a rosh mesivta at the Telz Yeshiva for eighteen years, he was appointed the first Rosh Yeshiva of Sha'ar HaTorah in Grodno, a position he held until his death.
