Biography

Rabbi Shabsai HaKohen was a prominent halachic authority of the 17th century, known for his commentary Sifsei Kohen (Shach) on the Shulchan Aruch. This work, covering Yoreh De'ah and Choshen Mishpat, became a foundational text in Jewish law, often studied alongside the rulings of his contemporary, Rabbi David HaLevi Segal (Taz).
