Rabbi Reuven Margolios was a rabbinic scholar and author recognized for his critical editions of medieval Jewish texts. He produced annotated versions of Sefer Chasidim attributed to Rabbi Yehuda ben Shmuel of Regensburg, first published in 1924, along with editions of the responsa She'elot u-Teshuvot min ha-Shamayim of Rabbi Yaakov of Marvège and the disputations of Ramban with Pablo Christiani in 1263. He also authored scholarly biographies of rabbinic figures including Maharsha, Or HaChaim, Ramban, and Rabbi Yechiel of Paris, and received the Israel Prize in 1957 for his research on Kabbalah and Chasidism.
