Rabbi Moshe Feinstein was born in Uzda near Minsk. He served as Rav of Luban for 16 years before emigrating to America in 1937, where he became a leading halachic decisor for American Orthodoxy. From his apartment on the Lower East Side, he authored thousands of responsa addressing contemporary halachic challenges and headed Mesivta Tifereth Yerushalayim for nearly five decades.
