Rabbi Moshe Cordovero, known as the Ramak, was a central figure in 16th-century Kabbalah and a leader of the mystical school in Tzfat. A prolific author and systematizer of kabbalistic thought, his major works include Pardes Rimonim, Elimah Rabbati, and Tomer Devorah, which laid foundations for kabbalistic ethics. He taught disciples such as Rabbi Eliyahu de Vidas and Rabbi Chaim Vital.
