Rabbi Mordechai Tzemach Eliyahu served as Rishon LeTzion and Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1983 to 1993. A talmid of Porat Yosef Yeshiva, he combined dayanut, communal leadership, and extensive hora’ah to a wide public. His halachic rulings, public addresses, and teachings at Kollel Darchei Hora’ah shaped Sephardic practice and rabbinic training in Israel and abroad.
