Rabbi Mordechai Benet was a leading talmudist and Chief Rabbi of Moravia. He authored the multi-volume responsa HaParech Mordechai and numerous other halachic works, including novellae on the Talmud. His rulings and leadership preserved traditional Jewish communal structures in Moravia.
