Rabbi Meshulam Zusha was an early Chasidic master and a senior student of Rabbi Dov Ber, the Maggid of Mezritch. Known for his deep emotional devotion to prayer and earnest pursuit of spiritual authenticity, his teachings were collected by his students in the Menorat Zahav. He consulted with Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi before the printing of the Tanya in 1797, offering his approval alongside Rabbi Leib HaKohen.
