Biography

Known as the Maharam of Lublin, Rabbi Meir Lublin was a posek and rosh yeshiva in 16th and 17th-century Poland. He authored the commentary Meir Enei Chachamim, a casuistic analysis of the Talmud, Rashi, and Tosafos, which is now printed in most standard editions of the Talmud. He led major yeshivas and served in the rabbinate of several key Polish communities, including Kraków, Lwów, and Lublin, where he returned in his final years.
