Biography

Rabbi Meir Eisenstaedter was a Hungarian rabbi, Talmudist, and paytan, known as the Maharam Asch. He authored the responsa collection Imre Esh, published posthumously by his son in 1864, along with Imrei Yosher, a collection of sermons. He studied under Rabbi Moshe Schreiber at the Mattersdorf yeshiva and represented the Orthodox at the 1844 Paks Conference.
